Home Safety is a Priority

Guest post from: Steve Delaney

Taking care of my family and keeping them safe is a priority for me. Although we installed San Diego adt security when we moved in to our new home, I took many other steps to make sure we don’t have to worry about a break-in. The first two things I did after we closed on our home was change the locks and install deadbolts on all the exterior doors. Even though the home was new, we had no way of knowing exactly who had keys to it. Numerous contractors had been in and out and I felt like it was not worth taking the chance. Deadbolts are much safer than spring-latch locks which can be popped open with a credit card. Once I had those chores completed, I installed motion detecting lights on all four corners of the house. Any movement will cause them to come on, hopefully scaring any would-be intruders back in to the shadows. We also made a point to meet all of our neighbors and took the time to get to know them and their schedules and vehicles hoping they would do the same for us as well. I know they will let me know if they see anything suspicious and would gladly return the favor!

Black Friday SALE

Black Friday SALE is everywhere!
My husband and I have been waiting fot this sale. He said everything was very low during this season so we are planning to do some shopping! We are actually targetting for some furniture like, cabinets for kids, table and chairs for kitchen and some custom made vanities for the bathroom like the photo below.

70

Above all those stuff mentioned earlier, we are still considering to get a Television set first. We are really longing for a big TV now. Kids are tired of watching in a small screen of laptop. We really need a bigger one coz it's always nice to watch in our sofa cuddling together, eating popcorn infront of a big screen right?
I am hoping we could get a TV this time. I am hoping that we could get a very low price and good payment terms. It will be better for us if it's in staggered payment. It will  not give us a hard time paying and we will have more chance of buying some furniture too!

Have a nice shopping everyone!

Getting Them Off the Web

Thanks to Lemuel Craft

There’s nothing worse than constantly having to get your kids off the computer and that’s the state I’m in right now. We got Satellite Internet Broadband for the house and my sons have been online wayyyy too much recently if you ask me – they’re always playing video games or instant messaging with their friends which sounds harmless enough until you add up the time they’re spending online. I don’t want to totally seem like bad cop but I guess I just can’t relate to their desire to get on the web all the time since I didn’t have that option growing up and I don’t really know who to talk to about the whole thing. Their mother says it’s fine but something in me keeps nagging me, telling me to get them off that computer and get them outside more often and I just don’t know how to brooch the subject with them without them thinking I’m totally “uncool” when it comes to technology which I guess I am, if you want to know the truth.

Kid's Room

I finally bought my kids their study table and a book rack. I always dream of I am planning to decor their room, make a space for studying and playing.  I am finally done with their study area. I used the portion of their room that is near the window so that they can use the daylight instead of opening the light.

I bought two table and chairs, a book rack and rags for each of them for reading time.

This is Ethan's Table - CARS with 4 storage under it and a stool for $49.99

This is Ishi's Table - PRINCESS with 4 storage under it and a sto0l for $49.99

Kitchen General Cleaning

I am cleaning up the kitchen last week. Cleaned up the stove, the microwave oven, sink and cabinets, the washer dryer, fridge and everything in the kitchen and also the washing machine and dryer which is placed near the kitchen. Most of them are easy to clean, just put some soap with water in towels and everything can be cleaned easily. Except for the stove, that is always my problem. I can't remove the stain, I think I'll be needing the steel brush to remove the stains. They looked like a thick grease that can't be removed. The washer is also one of my problem, since I am not using it most of the time, there are always water inside of it and it has unpleasant smell. All I am doing is turn it on put some soap and let it clean itself without the plates in it atleast once a week. So now the kitchen is clean again and hoping to clean it again next week to keep the cleanliness of my favorite place in the house.

Refurbishing my Favorite Part of the House- My Back Deck

Guest post written by Sharlene Benton
I spend a whole lot of time at home, but you may not say that I spend a whole lot of time in my home. See, I've always loved the great outdoors and spend a lot of time on my back deck and in my garden. You could even call my back deck my favorite room in the house. But because I use it so much, I think that it gets a little more wear and tear than the other rooms of the house. I'm sure that the elements probably don't help that any either.
I went online to try and get some ideas about what would work for some quick touch ups and renovations on my back deck. While I was doing that I saw the site www.HomeproImprovement.comand decided to get our siding redone through that website. The siding has been looking a little shabby for a while anyway, but we've been putting off getting it redone for a while now.
I'm going to find a desk that I'll be able to cover with weather proofing paint and use out there. That's one main thing that I want to make a change about the deck.

Our Apartment

Our apartment is very nice, We got it furnished already so most of the furniture was there when we moved in. We chose frnished for its not advisable to us to buy appliances and furniture yet if we have plan on moving again and looking for another house in the future.

Our unit is just enough for us, two bedrooms only and one bath and toilet. We don't want the kids to have their own toilet because we don't want them going to their bathroom alone without our supervision. All in all, the house is great!
One thing I just love and hate renting an apartment is that, you can't do anything you want. There are some rules that you need to implement like all the window blinds are always down and showing white to the outside. I wanted to have a curtain on my own and a  Window Valances in it but I can't do it.
Those are just some of the disadvantage, but all in all, were very good in our apartment.
